September 13, 2023

In honor of International Day of Peace on September 21st 2023, Sedona International City of Peace is hosting spiritually enriching events designed to spread peaceful vibes and encourage unity among all.

At any time in the morning of the International Day of Peace, people will be gathering at the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park for individual prayer, meditation, and the traditional circumambulation of the Amitabha Stupa to honor and reflect on peace. For those who cannot attend in person, a live stream of the activity will be available.

As the sun sets, participants are invited to join a candlelight Sunset Walk for Peace at 6:00 pm. Beginning at the Christ Lutheran Church at 25 Chapel Road off 179, attendees will be graced with heartfelt words from leaders representing diverse spiritual traditions. The event will be led by Rabbi Alicia Magal. Following the talks, a serene walk for peace will guide participants across the Friendship Walk to the Synagogue. Here, the day's events will culminate in a group recitation of our peace pledge, symbolizing a shared commitment to harmony and understanding.

Sedona International City of Peace urges all attendees and supporters, whether in-person or remotely, to solidify their commitment to peace by signing our peace pledge. This can be done by visiting: https://sedonacityofpeace.org/peace-pledge
