Thole,
I was very impressed by cde Gau in Radio 2000 this evening, and was more pleased by the fact that there is an attempt to scrap the notion of a sole voice of AZAPO. Having one voice destroys our voice and confines it to a person. When the person has to move on, we get left with a daunting task of profiling another 'one' person to carry our voice forward.
I think it's time that all voices be heard. We need to get back the voice of the Dep Pres (cde Strike), we need the voice of the Sec Gen (the engine of the movement). The heads of departments should speak on behalf of their departments. I would be worried to be leading a department only to report to CC not the greater public. I will be worried that I would lead a department and finish my term without having interacted with the public and the Minister who is my equivalent in government.
I personaly sometimes wonder why we need secretaries of departments when in fact they do not demostrate a need for their existance. For me they tend to be proud members of SC and CC, and their significnce seem to end ther. I don't think that is what the constitution wants of them.
Some how cde Nodoba will have a serious task, unless we, as members of AZAPO assist him. We expect a pub sec to speak when in fact the organization does not create what the pub sec must talk about. ... That notwithstanding, I have confidence in cde Nodoba, and hope he will change the face and shape of AZAPO (I am not sure why I have this wish and hope, but I do).
All in all my tower, we need multiple co-ordinated voices of AZAPO - this is very urgent. Cde Nodoba is one of them. Comrades Strike, Jairus, Nontobeko and many heads of departments should also be such voices, for AZAPO, for our country, for Black people, during this Black History Month and beyond...
