MEDIA STATEMENT ON MERGER OF THE DA AND ID
The official swallowing of the Independent Democrats by the Democratic Alliance this past weekend represents a triumph for white supremacy and capitalism in our country. Both the DA and ID have since their inception, portrayed themselves as the custodians of democracy and the Constitution, when in fact; their real agenda is to ensure that the white minority continues its domination over the black majority, albeit in a disguised form.
The so-called merger also exposes the moral bankruptcy of people like Patricia De Lille,who after realising that her party has no future, decided to secure her own survival by donating her party to the DA. Given how she left the PAC, it is clear that Ms.De Lille is one of the most inconsistent, opportunistic and untrustworthy leaders we have today.
Also, considering the growing levels of poverty and black discontent, arising from the failures of the government, AZAYO calls on our people to be vigilant and frustrate political manoeuvres that reduce them to voting cattle. If less credible parties can merge to strengthen white supremacy, AZAYO does not understand why it is difficult for credible organisations like AZAPO and the PAC to form an alliance against poverty, landlessness, poor service delivery and corruption.
AZAYO therefore calls on AZAPO and the PAC to consider forging an alliance of the Authentic Left, whose agenda would include exposing pseudo-Leftists and building a credible alternative to ruling party.
