Cdes Dick and Dance. your valid points are receiving close attention. But we should all remember that the congress will only be held over a weekend, the only question that we should be asking is how best can we oppurtunistically use this congress to rally our people to vote for Azapo in the forthcoming elections. 
 
We knew long time ago abt the elections - but i can a simple ask a simple question what have we done in the last 6 months a branches, regions, and provinces in preparing for these forthcoming local elections. We shouldnt come with excuses now that we are announcing the congress. Comrades must practically convince us that if we cancel the congress we stand chances of doing better in these local elections.

I am a bit concern about the timing of this important Congress. I am worried that at that period we should be focusing all our little resources to the May month Local Government Elections and nothing else. This is clearly indicated from the Johannesburg Commitment and the resultant  reconfiguration objectives that we do not win any ward but merely benefit from the proportional representation votes and nothing more.

I agree that AZAPO should focus its energies and resources to the Local Government Elections, however events like a congress, generally ignite and remobilise the youth. We must have the Youth congress before the elections for the above reasons. This does not suggest that our Youth formations are not mobilised.

 

The congress committee’s planning will not substitute the broader planning by AZAPO for local government elections. These in my view may go parallel. Lets reorganise our Youth to work better for AZAPO in the upcoming Local Government Elections...
