Dear Comrades
May I say this once and for all, without fear of being further muddied. I know this has nothing to do with the organization but
There are stories doing rounds trying to taint my image as a member of the organization and cast aspersions on my personality. The only unfortunate part is that the originators of these stories have no courage of coming to me to raise their issues with me notwithstanding the fact that my contact details are always in my email address.
One of those stories is that Funani spoke on SAFM on how Black people cannot manage the country, that the country is better under white people. Comrades in PE and Grahamstown and some parts of the E. Cape are reciting this story with many various, without context as to the origins of the story.
In the past few months I have been consistent in SAFM and 702 that the ANC is not able to run this country. I have argued that all arrows are pointing to oblivion (where the country is headed), and that under these circumstances it does not seem like we will reach a point of return. I argue that comparing the E. Cape to the W. Cape, the DA is better managing than what the ANC is doing, notwithstanding the fact that E. Cape continues to receive increase in its annual spending budget. PSAM (Grahamstown based watch dog organization) paints a gloomier picture on how this province is progressing to oblivion, while other reports show how the W. Cape is improving. This comparison, in my view, is the same as comparing apples with apples, than comparing ANC to NNP of old. My final conclusion is that, under these conditions it becomes evident that white people better govern than the Black people in the ANC, and this is sad for image of Black people in their country.
SAFM is a talk show radio where ideas are discussed openly. I raise my ideas and I am always guided by the principles of BC. I never drifted and never shied away from representing what I know to be right. In the past 6 months or so, I never mentioned the word AZAPO when making any comment so that I don't find myself having to explain why I contradicted the organization, yet I put straight what is in our founding documents.
I want to stress that I will continue to speak what I know to be right, with full knowledge that I will never compromise the name and status of AZAPO, nor will I ever tarnish the integrity of any member or leader of AZAPO. This I will continue to do because I am able to do it, and that there is nothing in AZAPO that says members of the organization must stop partaking on nation debates.
I have since stopped writing anything to any newspaper because I have had to answer to questions of mandate and protocol, even at a time when I am a chairperson of a region, a region whose formation is now under scrutiny in some quarters.
Finally, I wish to request any person who might have issues, to raise them with me because really, criticism and self-criticism is one of the guiding principles of our movement. In the AZAPO Constitution there are things that are boldly stated as bordering on liberalism, viz. myth-making, gossip-mongering and tale-bearing. It shames me that it is leaders I have respected for so long who have stooped too low to engage on such factional tendencies.
Having said this, I have no more interest to speak on this matter. Other stories also doing rounds, not having anything to do with the organization, nor anything to do with truth or principle, I will ignore.

I Think Com Lungile has hit the nail on the head. I cannot agree more. If anyone has got anything to say about whatever utterances/ statements you make, its wise to contact you directly. It will be stupid of you stop doing the right thing becoz certain faceless individuals don’t see things you way albeit doing so in their dirty corner. Assume for a moment that akukho mntu uthethileyo But whatever you do with good intentions of advancing our course must be done in a collective form so that other s can cover you in circumstances like these.

Subject: RE: Myth making
Funani from this part of the region I haven’t heard anything or it may be kept away from me. I am going to encourage you to go on with the good work you are doing without fear of being tagged. Tower somewhere in this organization we deviated from our basic principles, anyone with a bone to chew with you must raise it and failure to do so amounts to liberalism of the worst kind.
