Dear All,
On 24 March 2011 we were AZAPO was invited by the Nelson Mandela Metro’s Red Location Museum deliver a Biko lecture to about 200 learners accompanied by their educators. Cdes Siya and Sizwe accompanied me, and in the process did a good job in picking up the spoils. We attach a copy of the talk and their letter of appreciation. They had indicated a desire to publish the talk in their website. Let me apologise to you because I adapted the talk on my last year’s Newcastle Biko Rally input.

Comrade Nodoba and comrades
Last night comrade Simphiwe Hashe was hosted by Umhlobo Wenene radio for an hour on the now burning issue of local government elections. As expected the Black, Gold and Red flag was flown, sky high. He made us all proud! Thanks comrade Simphiwe that u moved me to comment in writing, something that was fast escaping me.
Those who were listening would be first to agree with me of the good impression the comrade made. It was certainly a build up on all other media coverage we have up until now enjoyed. Umhlobo wenene listenership is chasing 3million if not more, last time I checked. The time around which he was interviewed is prime time when everybody is awake and is listening (18h00 to19h00). Coverage such as this one has a good potential of promoting our leadership and expose the intellectual resource AZAPO posses.
The following points were noted from his input though not in a chronological order.
* THAT PROVINCES MUST DEMOLISH BECAUSE THEY ARE A WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY.
* THAT COMMUNITIES AND PEOPLE MUST WORK WITH AZAPO TO ROOT OUT CORRUPTION THAT IS SO ENDEMIC TO THE FABRIC OF OUR SOCIETY
* IT IS THE SAME RULING PARTY THAT WE HAVE ENTRUSTED OUR HOPES ON THAT IZ DISMALLY FAILING OUR PEOPLE
* THE RULLING PARTY HAS GOT A BIG HAND OR IMPLICATED IN ALL CORRUPT PRACTICES TAKIN PLACE.
* THAT THE RULING PARTY HAS TO BE UNSEATED BY THE SAM PEOPLE THAT HAVE PUT IT THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
One thing I like about his input is that he did not mince his words, he made a very clear call that the ANC government in power must be unseated because it has lost track to corruption. In way he has pitted AZAPO AGAINST THE RULING PARTY. Something our leadership have been afraid to do hitherto. Up until yesterday the ruling party was the only bull in the kraal.
I like his posture and high level of intelligence in dealing with media, for instance when poke about Mosidudi Mangena's role as minister, his host put it to him that, he went to serve government as individual. He retorted, you can separate Mangena from AZAPO, neither will you be successful in separate Hashe.
This interview was certainly a statement of confidence made by AZAPO. Only if our leadership when ever they find media space, could expose the hypocrisy of the ruling party, and like Comrade Hashe make a clear and clarion call to the populace to unseat the ANC through the ballot.
Thanks comrade Hashe
I wanted to share that excitement with you.
