GILBERT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A 17-year-old suspect who was previously
arrested in a teen attack in a Gilbert neighborhood was arrested
again, police said on Wednesday.
The department said the teen suspect was arrested on Wednesday on a
burglary charge. Investigators say the teen had been previously
arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault in connection to
an attack close to a home near Higley and Elliot roads on Dec. 17,
2022. Investigators didn’t reveal any new information about the
attack or what led them to add the burglary charge. Since the
suspect is under 18, the identity hasn’t been made public.
Investigators haven’t said if the attack is tied to the group
referred to by police and social media accounts as the “Gilbert
Goons.”
The 2022 attack is one of the five cases Gilbert police are asking
the public for help in identifying the suspects. The department
released last week photos of young people they want names for.
