Is it my imagination, or did the Tucson bee population just go *DEAD*.

I have heard rumors that the Tucson area has been infested with a mite
that kills the bees. Any info on this would be appreciated. I am relying
on native desert bees (not the domesticated European honey bees) for
pollination.

Hey IXer,

Or inert IXer, You are kind of cute. But you did not answer my question.
And since the news headers indicate you are from the PHX area, I cannot
take your answer seriously.

I still need to know what happened to the desert bees in the Tucson area.

He didn't answer your question anyway, just asked more--few of which were serious
though quite amusing.

Okay, I'm from Tucson. Is there something about the plants you are trying to
pollinate that non-native bees just can't handle? Can you do the pollinating by
hand, ala Q-tips? (My friend the garden-maniac does this all the time.)
