: Late model Chevy Lumina
: Maroon or Dk Red
: Very dark tinted windows
: cellphone and regular antennae but no others visible
: Regular maroon with white letter license plate starting with MG7 ...
: Be careful. Just because you don't see a marked car, you still take a
: risk.
Be even more careful. If an unmarked car with very dark tinted windows
attempted to pull me over, there's no fucking *way* I'd do it. I have no
indication whatsoever that it's actually a police car and not just some
guy who wants to introduce me to the business end of a tire iron.
Some states have passed laws prohibiting the police from using unmarked
cars to make traffic stops. It's a good idea.
If an unmarked car pulls up behind you and tries to pull you over just
drop your speed and keep driving. If the cop gets the idea you're not
going to stop right away he should radio for another unit, which should
be marked. Then pull over as soon as you see the marked unit with its
lights on. Keep your hands in view and politely explain why you were
apprehensive about stopping. I know DPS has a plain white Taurus with a
single red light they use to get people around the Tucson area.
Just my suggestion . . .

I saw that undercover Lumina up here in Prescott for our Christmas
lights parade. It was seized in a drug bust I think somewhere in like
Scottsdale or something. I thought it was pretty cool but I wouldn't
pull over for it either. When I lived in Indiana, some cop was trying to
pull over this lady and she refused to stop because she heard of on the
news that people were pretending to be undercover cops and then pulled
over and raped women. Well when the cop finally pulled her over, he drew
his gun, pulled her out of the car, and roughed her up a bit. Because of
this, Indiana is getting rid of all undercover police cars by a certain
year(this made national news so maybe some of you saw this).
Was that Indiana? I thought it was South Carolina or somewhere way down
yunder. I'm kinda neutral on the incident because the trooper WAS a
little rough[probably pissed, you know how they can be when you don't
please them] but once he DID establish his identity albeit with weapon
drawn, the lady did seem a little uncooperative, which only infuriates
them more. In summary, they BOTH could have done better, but it's easy
to second-guess these things having not been the party involved.
Personally, my few and non-hostile encounters with THEM[authorities] has
always made me cower down to them and perform much boot-licking,
whatever it takes to get the Hell on down the road away from them & on
my merry way. You can fume about later at home much more comfortably
than on a cold steel bunk. ;-) Just my 47&1/2 cents.

Probably most of you are too young to remember the red-light bandit out
in California? He was pretty famous during his time, but that was long
ago...
