SUPERIOR customer service? Really? Based on what? You've got to be quite
the intuitive guy to know how wonderful their SUPERIOR service is since
they made their "we are in Tuscon" announcement a few days ago. Is this
because you had to call them a a lot alreay? Or because you just felt a
need to trash your previous provider?

Kinda curious

And please write me as well.

Hi Arizonans (Arizonians, Arizonoids?)

I'll be relocating soon to Tucson and I was wondering if anyone would
be so kind as to reccommend an internet access provider who they
consider reliable and responsive their customers needs. I am looking
for a reasonable price as well on a 24hr SLIP/PPP 28800 connection
*or* possibly 56kbs frame relay - provided I can find a cheap csu/dsu.

My main criteria centers around functionality... I work myself doing
Unix/networking troubleshooting so I don't have much patience with
an IP that has too many silly problems. On the other hand I realize
things *do* go wrong every once in a while - luckily ... :-).

Thanks to all ...

BTW - Any Linux users there in Arizona?
____

Kira's admin tip of the week: Use Don Libes expect (extension of Tcl)
to automate interactive network tasks like toggling terminal server
destinations... can also be used to auto-page sysadmins on fault
conditions!

Thanks to all who replied to my query but I have definately decided
that Primenet seems to have the price and services I need. I have
gotten too many negative comments about Indirect to consider them as a
reliable source for internet access.

I'll vouch for their superior customer service.. fast responses,
nice guys... and really not many problems to begin with.

I am not going to engage in childish dialog with you, Laura. If a person
moving to Tucson wishes to exchange private e-mail it will be between
that person and myself. I've sampled a number of providers and can point
a person to others who've had in depth experiences where I have not.

It could be that people have had experiences with people at a particular
business over time and know their attitudes.

And it could be that once again, your imaginings of what someone will do
or say are just that.

In fact, it may be worth much more to a new arrival than anything you or
I can say, for that person to take a month trial on various services and
make their decision based upon how comfortable they feel about those
providers. The service that best meets the customer's requirements will
win that customer's business.

And I congratulate any provider that's confident enough to take the
financial risk of doing just that!

This dialog's healthy. A bit heated, but healthy! :)

I recently relocated from Tucson and can personally vouch for the quality
of service provided by ACES Research. Downtime was _minimal_,
response-time was short, and problems were solved quickly when they did
occur.

If you want a no-fuss, no-muss, no-worries, high-speed provider in the
Tucson area or Baja Arizona: I'd heartily suggest dropping a line to
sa...@aces.com.

Joe Kamper does not work for Primenet. A complete list of our staff may be
found on the World Wide Web at the URL:

Laura asked a legitimate question, and I didn't catch the answer
(maybe my fault): How do you know that PrimeNet is a good provider
in Tucson when they just announced service in Tucson?

Based on your .sig, I also have to wonder, do you work for PrimeNet?
