Hi

I wanted to send this email to all of you in regards to FSP.  Please read the email in its entirety. It is important that we all understand the rules regarding Fairview Soccer Park (FSP) and things we are doing to improve the park.  We have a role to play in ensuring that we control the cost of maintaining the fields.  We all benefit.

FSP WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Every Monday, we email the FSP weekly schedule to all AYSES parents and coaches.  The schedule is also located on the AYSES website at http://www.ayses.com/SoccerComplex/index_E.html.  You will need to click the facility link on the left side of the page to get to the schedule.

The email that is sent out also has the FSP rules.  It is important that you read and follow the rules.  It is obvious that some of you may not have received the email or ignore the rules altogether. We see people violating the rules all the time.  We have observed players playing in the goal areas, parents walking across the fields and even playing on the fields, to children throwing rocks on the fields and hanging on goal nets and parents doing nothing about it.

FSP RULES

Coaches and parents need to help with the rules.  There are a couple of teams that continuously violate the rules and coaches and parents are right there doing nothing.  IF YOU SEE ANYBODY VIOLATING THE RULES, PLEASE LET THEM KNOW. Some of them may not be aware of the rules but some just do not care and need to be told.

The main rules are as follows:
  • PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELDS.  That means no crossing the field to get to another field, playing on the field or standing on the field.  Stand on either the east or west side of the fields when watching practice.
  • PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE GOALIE AREA except during shooting practices.   Unfortunately players often go straight to shoot at goals when they get to practice. This is not just a bad idea because it may cause a player to pull a muscle, but it does no good to a players improvement of skills.  A player is better off playing keep away or something like juggling.
  • NO LITTERING.  Bottles and trash are often left everywhere.  Teams need to clear their area after practice.
  • NO PARKING BEYOND THE CONES unless you are handicap or working at the concession.  If you are a coach and doing it, you are also in violation.  Only those with handicap sign are allowed to park beyond the cone.
  • NO PETS ALLOWED.
  • NO SMOKING ALLOWED.

HALLOWEEN (Thursday, October 31, 2013)

We recognize the importance of Halloween to some of you, especially the young ones.  We will therefore have no practice for teams U11 and younger.  If your team is older than that, it is up to the coach to decide whether to have practice or not.

WELL DRILLING

At long last, we are drilling a well at FSP.  You will see drilling trucks out there next to field 3.  Please stay away from that area.  Make sure your children do not go there.  The well is a big deal for us and will go a long way in ensuring that we have beautiful fields.  In the past we have managed to do without a well, but this year has been extraordinary dry.  We have had cracks on the fields and the grass has thinned out considerably.  We are very excited and so should you.  Building a well is one step in our effort to continue to improve the facility and it is a major milestone.  Please pray that we get plenty of water.

Thanks for all your support.  We will continue to work hard to build a good club and your continued support is critical in that effort.

Thanks
