Hi Craig (if you are still around and interested!)I've been searching around my Brown ancestors in the last few days and think I can shed some light. Crummock Park, previously Brae-head House, was built by Hugh Brown of Broadstone, (who I think is my great great great great grandfather!) in 1798 or just after. If you google "Broadstone Ayrshire" go to Wikipedia and scroll down to the Browns you'll find a reference. I wonder if he still hangs in Beith library!
