Good Afternoon,

My 3 x great grandfather, Robert Stewart (1835-1871) moved from Antrim, Ireland to Ayrshire sometime between 1862 and 1866. He died on 28 September 1871 from a 10 day fever at 24 Peesweep Row, Lugar, Auchinleck.

Does anyone have any information about this area around this time?

Cumnock History Group has information about Lugar. It was dominated by the ironworks. Looks like your Robert was only there for a few months.
