Hi Susan,

have you looked at scotlandspeople.gov.uk ? If the rest of the family lived/ died in Ayrshire, the website has church records from before 1855 and statutory records after that.

 You can search for free but pay to download certificates or Census details. Or you could contact East Ayrshire Family History Society for help.

I tried to contact the East Ayrshire Family History Society for help but was told I had no access on the link I used.

Could there be another link?

I am about to research the  scotlandspeople.gov.uk  parish records though I know some are missing and some damaged.
