I recommend this marvellous production heartily.

Visually stunning, it captivates you right from the start with scenes of a (fictional Pondicherry) zoo and a very real Pondicherry. And then a tantalising glimpse into the complex fabric of India captures the very prevalent deep religious past and the modernity - underscoring the uniqueness of the secular religious development of Indian culture.

And then of course it is interesting as well from the anthropological point of view emphasising the dominant role played by animals and by religion in the history of civilisations.
