Gautam,
I don't know why my message has not appeared on the group page.
Very strange.
As far as Ayn Rand's views on this subject are concerned I do not recall her discussing this in any of the books she wrote - fiction and non-fiction and I have all her books and I have read them so many times that I know I did not read about guns and gun control in any of them.
I will once more read her non-fiction books and find this out - how did I miss out on such an important topic????
Please indicate that essay or book in which she has discussed this topic.

In her book ATLAS SHRUGGED she made the creator of the atom bomb into the most evil villain. With scathing clarity and in no uncertain terms she stated that when the human mind uses it's superior intellect to create weapons of mass destruction then that mind and the nation that supports it - knowingly or unknowingly - will get destroyed and she has described graphically and ruthlessly how that will happen - that that nation which stays blind to that villainy - that stops or drowns the voice of reason will one day implode and get destroyed by it's own blindness. The train exploding in the tunnel is one such narration and how and why the scientist Stadler finally screaming for someone anyone to stop the nuclear button gets reduced to ashes just the way the little animal he had set up as a "test sample"  had done. And sadly - this was the reason she was damned in the USA.
Or else why would such an incredibly intelligent piece of literature have been  damned ?
She states clearly that Dagny Taggart who would not hurt a fly kills the guard who had kept John Galt captive. She states and describes in considerable detail why the heroine of her book kills a man any man.

I don't know how and why her name has come up in this regard. Just because she advocated that Governments should remain in the realm of governance does not mean she advocated chaos. Her only reason to promote unobstructed freedom for the individual was for the human mind to discover and give full rein to it's potential for creative and inventive and productive genius. Her chapter ATLANTIS describes that idealism in sparkling detail.

And yes - as I had always feared India too has imploded and yes the horrific crimes being committed are proof of that.

I hope this message appears on the group page.

Hello all,
Some of you have mentioned that your messages are not appearing
properly in the group.

Some of you are replying to the digest email. As a result the subject
line of the original email post is getting lost. This is disrupting
the thread of the discussion. I would request all of you to maintain
an appropriate subject line in your posts, and retain the original
subject as long as it is deemed appropriate.

There are two options, pls log on to your google account, visit the AR
group, and select the message to which you want to reply, and and post
your reply online.

The second option is for you to change your AR group email setting,
from Digest to Single email. This will ensure that each email comes to
your inbox, and you may then reply to the ones you want, individually,
from your own email software itself..

Please try these out, and le me know if you have any problem.
Thanks and best,
Barun

Hi Barun ,
I have been using this same account without any trouble. I don't use the digest account. That reports failure of delivery anyway.
What next ?
Best regards
Poonam
