Come join the neighborhood this Saturday, October 31st for a
frightfully good time to plant the AYLESFORD PLACE COMMUNITY
ORCHARD!!! The trees and bushes for this exciting project is in part
funded by a Neighborhood Sustainability Grant, but we need a community
effort to install them. We’ll meet at 9am at Michler’s Florists at 417
E. Maxwell St., and disperse from there to the 7 different sites that
will receive plantings. Spread throughout the neighborhood, these
edibles will provide a community harvest in years to come, including
sour cherries, raspberries, blueberries, plums, serviceberries, and
even persimmons! Come help be a part of the inaugural event for this
community asset, and don’t forget to bring your shovels and gloves if
you’ve got them! To celebrate the spookiness of the day (and the
excitement of the UK game as well) we’ll finish up with our own
version of partying - TRUNK gating - with food and merriment a plenty!
A great way to meet the neighbors and get to know your community!
