After a successful UN Youth Climate Summit, United Nations Environment Programme, the Kenya UN Interagency Working Group on Youth in partnership with the International Climate Change Development Initiative (ICCDI Africa) known as Climate Wednesday will host a webinar tomorrow Topic: “Championing Climate Action: UN Youth Climate Summit & Way Forward for African Youth” Wednesday, October 23rd at 2:30 EAT to get the outcome of the youth delegates that attended the summit and to hear from them, their experience and the way forward in building a sustainable environment across the Africa continent.

About the Webinar

The UN Youth Climate Summit is a platform for young leaders who are driving climate action to showcase their solutions at the United Nations and to meaningfully engage with decision-makers on the defining issue of our time.

Therefore, the youth need to step up in addressing the climate crisis and save the planet. Fortunately, 2019 has seen the rise of the global youth movement for climate action on a scale never seen before; and this movement has spread to Africa, which has the youngest population in the world. The scale, energy, and momentum of this movement create new opportunities that simply didn’t exist before.

The webinar will focus on the following key questions:

  1. How can you contribute in building a sustainable environment for youth across Africa?
  2. How can the youth get more involved in climate action discourse and advance solutions that can make a pivotal difference in our planet’s future?
  3. How can the youth demand urgent action from our leaders and more importantly, how can the youth hold their leaders accountable for the decisions and policies that they make in relation to climate?

Speakers:

  1. Wanjuhi Njoroge Founder of Nelig Group
  2. Carson Kiburo Kibett Co-convener of the United Nations Inter-Agency Network for Youth Development (UN-IANYD)
  3. Victor Mugo Country Coordinator Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network (CSAYN)
  4. Francis Kamau Co-founder and CEO of Agrieal Africa
