African Diaspora Investments in Africa

5 - 7 November 2012

The next AYF annual conference on “African Diaspora Investments in Africa” will be held from 5th to 7th November 2012 in Bonn.

Long-term equity investors are often faced with a level of uncertainty and a series of questions about where best to invest capital for future growth. On several occasions, we hear African governments, calling out to their European partners to come and invest in Africa without considering the capabilities of their Diasporas. As the economic climate in Europe and the US remains gloomy, alleged foreign investors are increasingly looking further afield to rapidly growing markets like Africa to deliver the high rates of returns to which they became accustomed during the boom years.

The conference will serve as an effective platform to give participants the opportunity to address priority sectors, and create contacts for direct participation, in the investment and building of Africa’s demographics, particularly the burgeoning size of Africa’s middle class, to establish a compelling argument for investing on the continent.
