Please save the dates.  US Sailing Area F's Chubb Junior Championship qualifier events are planned to be held as follows:

Smythe single-handed qualifier (on BYOB Laser Radials):  April 4-5, 2015 at Austin Yacht Club during Easter Laser Regatta

Bemis double-handed qualifier (on BYOB C420’s - some borrowed boats will be available):  May 16-17, 2015 at Rush Creek Yacht Club during TSA’s Chocopalooza Regatta

Sears quadruple-handed qualifier (on borrowed boats):  May, 2015 (date is TBD) at Houston Yacht Club

Please check the calendar on the US Sailing website at www.ussailing.org for further information.  NORs will be posted soon.  There will be no on-site registration!

The top teams from the qualifiers at each of the 12 US Sailing areas will be selected to compete against each other at the Championship finals in Massachusetts for the prestigious Bemis, Smythe, and Sears trophies.  Each team represents a club (the skipper determines the club).  So, the qualifiers are races between clubs in Area F! Area F will be able to send at least one sailor/team from the single-handed (Smythe) qualifier, the double-handed (Bemis) qualifier, and the quadruple-handed (Sears) qualifier to the Championship finals.  There will be great competition at the Championship finals, and a clinic, where the top junior sailors will get an opportunity to display their skills to get on the Olympic pathway!  

Competitors must have reached their 13th birthday, but not their 19th birthday in 2015.  So, don't delay.  Please spread the word and get your club’s teams ready for the qualifiers! 

The 2015 US Sailing Chubb Junior Championship finals will be held at the Wianno Yacht Club in Wianno, Massachusetts on August 2-6, 2015.  The single-handed finals for the Smythe Trophy will be held on Byte CII's, the double-handed finals for the Bemis Trophy will be held on C420’s, and the quadruple-handed finals for the Sears Cup will be held on Wianno Seniors.  More information about the Jr. Championship finals can also be found on the US sailing website. 

Thank you in advance for forwarding this email to any interested junior sailors or their parents and promoting these US Sailing events within your club.  Please post the dates on your club and personal websites and also look for future emails from me about these qualifier events as they develop.  I will send you another email with the date for the Sears qualifier when that has been determined.  If you would rather not receive my email, please let me know and I will certainly remove you from this list.  If you have any questions, I invite you to contact me!

Registration is now OPEN and online for the Area F Jr. Championship singlehanded Smythe qualifier on Laser Radials!  It will be held on April 4-5, 2015 at the Austin Yacht Club.  To register, please see the following link which is available on the Event page at Regatta Network at:  http://www.regattanetwork.com/event/10030#_registration

This event is also easily accessible on the Regatta Network website, by clicking on “calendar” in the upper left side of your screen, and then clicking on “Click to Show Junior Events Only” in the middle of your screen below the “Upcoming Events” title. 

I encourage ALL junior sailors who are at least 13 years old and won’t be 19 during 2015 to register!  Please spread the word to all Laser Radial sailors who might be interested!

Hello!

I regret to inform you that the Area F Jr. Championship singlehanded Smythe qualifier on Laser Radials on April 4-5, 2015 at the Austin Yacht Club is hereby CANCELLED. If you have already registered, please contact me directly for a refund. While the Regatta Network may still allow registration, I am in the process of getting the event deleted. So, please do not register for the Smythe qualifier at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please stay tuned for a new date and location! 

I am immediately seeking a new Host in Area F for this important junior championship qualifier event. Please contact me if your club would like to volunteer!
