Hey Roadrunners!

 

I want to start out by congratulating our junior sailors who were recognized at the AYC Annual Banquet on Friday night. Charles Larrouilh received the coveted Ron W. Harden Memorial Trophy. This award goes to a young man who, though not necessarily the most accomplished sailor, demonstrates traits of cooperation, discipline, willingness to learn, good sportsmanship, which are the goals of junior sailing program. The Liz Bauman Memorial Trophy goes to the young woman who displays the same traits. This year Quinn Harkrider received that honor. Congratulations to both our winners!

 

Also I want to thank all of you for your recognition and flowers at the banquet. It has been my pleasure to serve this year as your junior coach! The 2011 Roadrunner season was such a blast and I am so proud of the progress made by all our junior sailors. I am blessed to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people. Your support, willingness to volunteer, kindness, and enthusiasm makes our program one of the best around! I look forward to doing it all again next season.

 

Please join us for the last social event of the year, the Roadrunner Holiday party this Saturday, December 10th from 1:30 to 3:30 in the AYC Clubhouse. If you haven't yet RSVPed, please do so. We will have an afternoon of activities, crafts, refreshments, and holiday cheer! Please feel free to bring a dessert or snack. Also remember that we will be accepting donations for Toys for Tots. I hope to see you all there!
