Living is the question of balancing many things, with constantly
recurring loss: memories of love, frustration, grief—are hinted at in
this piece.

SUBWAY is a generative montage I have programmed on a computer. The
original video was separated into single frames, color graded, and
stored in data arrays. I then write a number of algorithms a computer
uses to assemble the movie. I can print the final results to a file, or
if you like, we can use a computer to generate the move live. The
algorithm for SUBWAY can also take motion input from the audience
through a sensor, that is it, the movie can be shown as an interactive
montage.

species of beings inhabiting a shared environment in a few minutes of
time.

Through superimpositions and repetitions this is a new approach to the
dance-like material and visualization. One man. One woman. His violence.
Her fear. In a repetitive cycle of violence a man empowers himself by
destroying a woman.

Firefly is poetic video inspired by the personality of my friend, a
ballet dancer in the past. The video was shot in the open spaces of
Marine Park and Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn to explore the notion of
freedom versus gravity. It features quotes from Haruki Murakami
stories.

AXWFF promotes and screens women’s experimental films that feature alternative forms and represent themes and issues distinct to women and girls, with the hope to inspire others to make and hone their own experimental work to be shared in a public forum.
