Chromebook and third-party email accounts?

Does anybody on this list use a Chromebook with an email account other than Gmail? That is one thing holding me back from recommending Chromebooks to other blind people. Right now, I don’t have a good answer for if they need to use an email account other than Gmail.

Chromebooks that can run Android apps can run K9, which works pretty well. They
run Talkback in Android app windows.

as Chromebooks are connected to the internet, you can access any email account that has a web portal. Moreover, you can install Android applications on most of them so that you can run pretty much any email clients. Which part of it do you think they would struggle with? Also, you can use a Chromebook without a Google account. You can login as guest. but I would recommend creating a Google account if for no other purpose than to at least login to the Chromebook, and then they can access whatever email they want.

Ryan: I can't tell if you are asking about the Google account or the email account.  

You can setup a Google account with any type of email account. A Google account login doesn't have to use a GMail address.  I assume non-Gmail Google accounts are OK as the owner account on a Chromebook, but I would have to check.

As mentioned below, once on a Chromebook, accessing other email accounts is straight forward, at least when not visually impaired..
