Hey all.
Is it actually possible to select text in Chrome using the keyboard?  I was sent an email with four or five templates to choose from for mail signatures (apparently my employer is picky about such things?) and found, much to my chagrin, that there was no convenient way to select the templates from the message body.  Could it actually be that we can't select text or items from web pages without using a mouse?  I ended up using Safari, which was a ... less than pleasant experience on OS X 10.11.2.

Sorry, but I think I'm missing your question. You can definitely select
text with Chrome and ChromeVox. Use ChromeVox+s to start the selection
and then after navigating through the text you want selected, hit
ChromeVox+s again to stop selection. Control+c will now copy the
selected text to your clipboard. Not only is it possible, but it's quite
convenient.

Ah no, you didn't miss the question at all--I'm still occasionally a newbie.
Actually just after I sent the question out, I took a look at the key mappings and saw those commands there.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here are a few other tips which might not be so obvious:

after hitting ctrl s, and making your selection you can directly hit ctrl c to copy
-hit chromevox c k to hear the current selection
-when moving by line, word, or character, you can hit ctrl c to copy the last thing spoken
-after copying, paste into a Google Doc and hear the formatting which gets retained

I'd forgotten the keybinding, ^s, so first, thanks for saving me having to look that back up.
I am a bit confused however between the two messages, one saying that after selecting the text was directly copied to the clipboard and the other saying
to use ^c after selecting to do the copy.
I'll be experimenting in a bit as I do need to select and copy text fairly often and having forgotten the chromevox way kept me from using chrome some
times when I other wise would have.
I want to thank the chromevox devs for the good work over the last couple of years that has turned chrome in to a very viable option from the relatively
unstable extension that was chromevox when I first starting trying it. It took a while, but the work has sure payed off, and is truly appreciated!
Regards,

Neither message says that text is directly copied to the clipboard. Both
messages say that you have to use control+c to copy the selected text to
the clip board. David adds an additional tip though by saying that when
you move by line, word or character then the text is automatically
selected so you don't have to use ChromeVox+s to toggle selection mode
on but rather you can just use control+c to copy the text that was last
spoken to the clipboard.
