Hi,

I am new to this group.

For the last 8-9 months I have had some very aggravating behaviors creep up on Drive. I am going to do my best to explain what is happening below. for the record, I am using VoiceOver with quick nav disabled, on the latest version of Crome, on my MacBook Pro OS 10.13.4. The screen reader preference is also enabled on Drive.

When a google sheet or doc is opened in the browser, and I am looking  to navigate up to the file menu, I press the pass through key combo (VO keys+tab) and then VO+F. The focus does jump up to the file menu, but when I try to either move further into the file options by pressing down arrow, or move horizontally to edit, view, etc., the focus jumps to the very end of the bar, to somewhere like format, and it will not allow me to move into any selected option’s menus.

When I have sheets opened, there is some sort of icon or graphic that is always disrupting my VoiceOver focus. Randomly VoiceOver will announce “explore data.”

If I have multiple sheets or docs open, when I navigate from each browser tab to view or edit info on the other sheets/docs, and then return to the initial sheet/doc, I no longer receive any feedback from VoiceOver when I try moving up or down, side to side, within the document by using the aero keys. I have to turn VoiceOver off and then back on to continue interacting with the document.

I have tried researching these issues extensively on Google, and I can’t find anyone posting about the issues I am having. I have even attended accessibility testing at the Google HQ in NYC a couple of times in the last year, and the individuals proctoring the testing sessions are flummoxed by what is happening for me on my system.

I would be happy to receive any feedback or solutions from this group.

Many thanks,

Abigail

I'm sorry that I can't be of much help, but I have experienced all of these problems too. If you've only used Safari so far, try Google Chrome, that may help a little. Otherwise, you can try downloading the file, and editing it in NUMBERS, and uploading it back.
