Dear AXOLOTLers,

We hope you all had wonderful summer holidays, and that you enjoyed the
LChange'24 workshop where the results of AXOLOTL were presented (even if
only remotely).

As a reminder, the shared task description paper can be accessed at
https://aclanthology.org/2024.lchange-1.8/

Some of the shared task organizers have the impression that there wasn't
enough time to properly discuss AXOLOTL at the LChange'24 workshop. We
feel it actually deserves a full day workshop in itself. Therefore, we
are now considering to actually organize such a workshop, fully
dedicated to the results of AXOLOTL'24 shared task.

The main question: is there any interest for such an event among the
AXOLOTL'24 participants (the subscribers of this mailing list)? We would
really like to hear your thoughts and to find out whether you would
participate in this workshop if it is to be organized.

We currently envision the workshop as a round table style event: i.e.,
no "official" publications, just an exchange of opinions with informal
presentations and discussions, may be followed by a couple of blog
posts. An offline event would be best (there are several potential
venues in the Northern Europe), but if the majority votes for an online
workshop, this is also fine.

If there is interest for this from the community, we hope to schedule
the workshop as soon as possible, but probably no earlier than November
2024.

So again: are you interested in joining the AXOLOTL'24 workshop to
discuss the shared task design, its flaws and possible improvements,
proposed systems, their pros and cons, possible future shared tasks in
explainable semantic change detection, etc?

Thank you again for your participation in AXOLOTL'24!

It would be really great to have a full day event devoted to the shared task! But we would prefer to plan this at least 3-4 months in advance taking into account that some participants would probably need visa, so I would suggest February or March 2025.
Best wishes, Nikolay Arefyev
