Havean option on scheduling for sunrise or sunset instead of a set time. It could easily be calculated based on night vision activation or deactivation from prior days. Maybe even call it something associated with night vision. This could be helpful in many situations. One example would be for those suffering from headlights. When night vision is activated is when headlights come on, so then users could turn motion detection off, and on again when night vision deactivates.

Vera (home automation) uses postal codes as the trigger for sunrise/sunset. For example you can set it ON at sunrise or minutes/hours before/after sunrise then OFF at sunset or minutes/hours before or after sunset. Have had our lights using this for past several years -works great!

For example, Wyze Cam sees motion outside between dusk and dawn and triggers Wyze Bulbs. But during daylight hours motion does not trigger bulbs. Could have additional trigger where outside bulbs turn on low between dusk and dawn, then switch to bright when motion is detected, and then go back to dim after a minute or two.

Of course, there are three dawns and three dusks, Civil, Nautical and Astronomical. Using elevation as @koying says, that would be elevations of -3, -6 and -12, respectively. Depending on your location (on a hill or in a valley) and the degree of cloudiness, you may want to use different values.

It does provide new triggers via the monitored_conditions. And if you use the offset that is possible, you can easily setup an exact match for different times of the year. As LAT and LNG are as well part of the configuration, you can adjust everything to your needs.

I checked the dawn and dusk since I have another trigger for a motion sensor and that is precisely what I actually would want for lights as well. The correct setting for most people is dawn and dusk, not next sun rising and setting. I also think this should be an option on the sun settings trigger.

The RNG for Dawn/Dusk fishing needs to go away. It shouldn't take more than 1 Tyrian day cycle to catch a single dusk/dawn fish.

I have been through 2-4 day cycles in come areas to get even just 1 fish during dawn/dusk. This is with 900% fishing power too.

I'd love it if there were two separate buffs, one for when fishing in your skiff can be "Fishing Party", and one that is only active when not on your skiff. I hate having to be forced to fish on a skiff when you need a fishing buff. Sometimes it's nice to just fly around and look for places to perch on the docks/shore/land to fish ya know?

1. Get rid of this stupid any bait trait, we have 14 different types of bait, generally we have 2 different types of fishing pools + open water plus 3 time slots plus an unused and near pointless lure option not to mention we have FIVE different rarities, yet only about 3 different baits are used per group of zone fish. There is so much wasted potential here where all fish could favor a different bait and even lures.

2. Legendary fish are strangely more common than the aforementioned generic any bait fish and dawn/dusk can be pretty tedious with its very short time slots. Now legendary fish only benefit right now is ambergris chunks, give them the same treatment mackerals got and introduce a new 15th bait type that attracts dawn/dusk fish regardless of time of day, however this bait is given ONLY by trading in legendary fish to a fish vendor, so to gain this type of bait you are trading in a considerable profit of 2 ascended fillets and ambergris for the extra dusk/dawn chances.

3. For the love of god increase the fishing party duration when you're not on skiff, it's possible to lose your entire stacks by stopping to kill just a single mob thats relentlessly chasing and attacking your skiff. It's like less than 10 seconds of a grace period, who thought that was a good idea? There are some areas where the amount of pools are so limited that you kinda have to fish in a pool near mobs while others respawn, but since it's normally underwater combat only to clear them out and often multiple mobs, hoping out to clear them is just giving up your stacks unless you try to hop on and off your skiff every 5 seconds.

Fishing is supposed to be a fun and relaxing passtime, i'll be honest, the rng nature of achievements tied to fishing currently ruin the intended purpose of fishing for me and it's not something i can just ignore, especially when i'm reminded of it every time i fish up a new fish for the first time. Worrying about mob agro is also tedious in a few zones, should have been a mastery that lowers agro radius instead of the completely worthless depth charges.

I think the dawn/dusk cycle adds some difficulty to the fishing achievements, else it would just be very easy. It took me 11 cycles to get muskellunge the first time, then 7 the avid time. I think its somewhat needed to make the titles worth it. I don't think these need handed out, people need to work for a goal.

Dusk Dawn draws its name from a magical arc of time: the arrival and departure of soft light. It is the time when the sun dips below the horizon to leave an afterglow that signals the arrival of the night, and that carries us to the brief embrace of dawn light in the morning. Playing on the intersection of its two defining shapes: a soft shade and geometric, conic base, Dusk Dawn transforms from what appears to be a solid brass volume to reveal an inner conic 'spire' of light when illuminated.

I have Echo devices, Lohas (Tuya) Lights and ST motion sensors. All showing in the Alexa app.

All working perfectly with Alexa routines to turn lights on/off when motion is sensed during certain hours.

Going forward this will be again as the days grow longer (having to manually adjust the time the lights go on/off).

I understand I should now be able to create a virtual switch/sensor (not sure which) in the ST IDE, I can manage this if I knew which.

But how to use this, with the Smart Lighting Smart App to get the lights to come on only during Dusk till dawn?

Looked at a few guides and struggling to get it working.

If it is not possible to add the lights to ST, then you probably cannot add them to webcore. And therefore you cannot control them with either. And as far as I can tell, the Tuya app does not use sunrise/sunset in their WiFi scheduling. You might look into IFTTT. I do not use that and cannot advise you there.

Fortunately, one of the community members here has created a DTH for a virtual device which is both a sensor and a switch. When you use anything to turn on the switch, including smartlighting or a webcore piston, the sensor will look like it opened. When you turn off the switch, the sensor will look like it closed.

So for each Lohas Light you will have one virtual device created using the instructions in the community FAQ. We usually call this virtual device a proxy. What is unusual about it is that the proxy device will look like both a switch and a sensor. That makes it easy to turn on and off while still having a device that Alexa can recognize to trigger an Alexa routine.

Thanks everyone. I already sorted this.

Created a virtual switch.

Setup routine in Alexa to turn light on with virtual switch turned on.

Set up an automation in Smart Lighting to turn switch on dusk till dawn when motion starts and to turn off when motion stops with duration 1 minute.

All working

My exterior home lights automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. There are controller units similar to the image below installed behind each light switch. Does HomeKit have accessories that will automatically turn lights on and off at dusk/dawn?

Unfortunately, I can't use dusk/dawn bulbs considering I have integrated-LED light fixtures. I have looked at the Caseta by Lutron light switch, however my concern here is what do I do in cases where the light switch that controls the exterior light is in the same panel/grouping with other lights?

From what we can tell, you're asking if there is a HomeKit accessory that will automatically turn your lights on and off at dusk or dawn. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some guidance.

From Dusk till Dawn: The Series is an American horror television series developed by Robert Rodriguez. It forms part of the franchise of film, direct-to-video, and comics of From Dusk till Dawn, expanding on the chronicles of the Gecko Brothers, Seth and Richie; The Fuller family; and Santanico Pandemonium.[1] The series adds to the tone of the film, with new characters and backstories, while expanding the snake creatures' Mesoamerican mythology.[2] The series also references the Popol Vuh, drawing on its rich, mythological history and, in particular, on the legend of the Hero Twins Hunahp and Xbalanqu to add greater depth to the backstories and to fully flesh out the characters of the show's protagonists.[3]
