ansible tower - invalid reference format

I trying to run the demo template (job) in ansible tower 4.1 but it won't run.  I get the following error: Invalid reference format.  This is a trial version of the ansible automation platform and I don't have Red Hat support.  Has anybody seen this before and any ideas how to fix it.  thanks

Check the configuration of the default execution environment. I am pretty sure that error you are seeing comes from podman when it doesn't like the format the image is in.
