Dear Amazon RDS Customer,
We are pleased to announce Oracle Database 11.2.0.3 support for Amazon RDS. Starting today, you can launch new RDS database instances running Oracle 11.2.0.3 and upgrade your existing Oracle database instance with just a few clicks in the AWS Management Console.
To create a new Oracle 11.2.0.3 database instance, just use the "Launch DB Instance Wizard" in the AWS Management Console and select the DB Engine Version "11.2.0.3v1".
To upgrade an existing database instance use the "Modify" option in the AWS Management Console and select the DB Engine Version "11.2.0.3v1". Before you upgrade a production database instance, we recommend you test the upgrade process on a test instance to verify its duration and to validate your applications. We do not recommend upgrading Micro DB Instances.
You can learn more by visiting the Oracle section of the Amazon RDS User Guide.
Sincerely,
The Amazon RDS Team
