Welcome to the handful of new members who have joined in the last few days, and apologies for the hoops you have to jump through; this list has received a lot of spam in the past, so membership currently requires approval (which generally happens same-day).

Perhaps some of you might like to introduce yourself to the list?

Hi All,

I'm an SAP technical consultant responsible for the SAP bit above the
OS and below the application layer, commonly know as SAP Basis. Also
involved with lots of architecture and design for SAP landscapes,
etc. Having moved systems into adaptive computing and VMWare
environments before, I'm keen to get some SAP Dev/Test/Demo systems
into the cloud and see where the cost/benefit lies.

Loads of questions at present, so looking around for advice on
practically how we migrate existing systems on various DB's to various
OS's. Should be interesting!

I don't have an impressive resumé at all, but I did create a sizable AWS user group in Silicon Valley (2400+ members), as well as a web-based tool that scales apps on EC2, called Scalr.

If anyone ever flies to the SF Bay Area, send me a note so that we can meet for coffee or lunch.

Cheers,
Sebastian

I think creating Scalr.com is a rather impressive CV to be honest

I agree!

Do you have any connection to the UK, Sebastian?

You are too kind.

Other than loving the country's culture, no connection to th UK. Why?
