Hi Fellow Brighton writers - I'm looking to commission some freelance work out.
I run Red Setter, a PR agency based on Trafalgar Street in central Brighton.
www.redsetter.co.uk
All of our clients are design, branding, marketing agencies - mostly London-based and across all sectors - and our work for them is heavily led by editorial. For each we produce a quarterly or monthly piece of thought leadership - an article of 800-1200 words that showcases their thinking and/or work in a given sector.
My aim is to work with the best freelance writers in each sector - for example, many of our clients focus on the drinks sector, and so we have for many months worked with the excellent and multi-award-winning Nina Caplan to produce articles with those clients. She understands that sector so is able to talk to our clients about consumer trends, to talk the sector language, and ultimately to produce articles that have cut-through to editors and marketers in that sector.
I'm looking to expand my bank of outstanding writers, and so am wondering if any of the many excellent writers in our city could be interested.
Each commission involves helping scope out consumer trends, offering thoughts on topics, then interviewing the client (by phone or ideally in person), and writing 800-1200 words. We are able to pay £250 per commission. Ideally we assign a writer to a client, so this can result in an ongoing monthly arrangement.
I have several on my desk that I would like to commission out now, and I am looking for people who are demonstrable experts in a particular sector, can impress my clients and produce brilliant articles, and who will be fun for us to work with.
If you're interested please get in touch with a quick backgrounder on yourself, ideally a few examples of your writing, and info on your particular specialisations.
