Yes that is true and I completely support the views below.
HOWEVER, that does not give the liberty to make unilateral rules not carrying the majority required for the same. Good deeds do not give allowance for making own laws.
And who’s interest is it? If keeping discipline is in the interest of all, selling the DU is also in the interest of occupants. Why do you have a rider to it. Surely before selling the buyer needs to be told and agreed to in writing to follow the RWA laws – what’s the big deal?
Selling and buying is individual requirement. If it was so strongly felt that none other than forces personals are to be owners then AWHO should specify. PROPERTY is financial security and at time of need it should be encashed with the best available price.

I could not agree more with the views of Tich Bakshi. We need to sp the RWA in ensuring the colony does'nt convert into a civ dominance, which will be very unfortunate. We need to maint our own iden and must formulate strict rules on disposing off these flats. Our full hearted sp to the RWA on this issue.

Gentlemen,
I had ,after my last msg had resolved not to write as I was not sure as to what might be approved by the Powers for putting on the page. But present lopsided views about RNA's decision on sale of flats could not be ignored.
Consider this: 1 When we took over the Flats in 08, The rentals being offered were to the tune of 3000/- to 5000/- . With riff raff being the best clients. You could get students. coy employees rest rooms, Messes for students Etc.
2 Sense of insecurity was acute as you could see the student hostel fights at all hours of day and night.
3 Ladies and kids didn't feel safe particularly after sunset.
4 Goons were known to threaten the security guards with fire arms and enjoyed free access to the colony.
5 The residents like me wee putting up a brave face on it but were deeply worried.Shrief logon ke rahane layak nahin thi yeh colony. Then how could you expect higher rentals and prices for flats?
6 Such offrs as have bought these flats for investment should not think that they can be allowed to make a fast buck and leave the resident members to live in an unruly colony of their creation. Sir, This is a home to a lot of your brethren who were not lucky enough to 'commandeer' sufficient resources to buy flats for investment in the colony and live elsewhere.
7 It was the steps taken by the RWA which have added value to living in your colony , Steps like stopping the student ingress, isolating and removing the unruly and immoral elements, organising better security, literally confronting and removing the outlaw elements including foreigners and making the colony safe for families Living here was not as bad as wild WEST but it was not a cake walk either.
8 I do not hold brief for present RWA and I fight with them whenever I go to 1H block (RWA Office) over line of action, actions in hand for improvement in the colony. So do others. But to give "Devil his due" I Back them over every positive action as do almost all the residents.
All this because their actions are adding value to our property, raise rental values, bringing in better class of people into colony and trying to make it the best colony in the NCR.
This is long winded , I will stop till next time. For heaven's sake stop trying cut your own feet.

Dear All
I completely agree with the views expressed by Col Bipin. Our intent of raising the issue of sale of houses is not to belittle the good work done by the RWA but to rectify something which we feel is our
legitimate right. On behalf of the group my apologies to Gen Sinha and other fellow brothers in RWA. Gentlemen please realize this is a thankless job the reward of which will be reaped by all of us.

I completely disagree and dissociate from the views expressed in the trailing email.
I live in Mumbai and since I have a flat in GVGN, I visit there every month for a week or so. I am, therefore, in the know of the work RWA is doing.
To say that the RWA does not have members interest in mind is a statement made witho complete ignorance of the facts and ground situation as also complete ignorance of the the amount of hard work the RWA members have put in to improve the living conditions. The work done is there for everyone to see.
In the long run I also intend selling the flat. I am personally of the view that sale of flats should be allowed to respectable citizens of the country whether from the uniformed fraternity or outside of it.
We, in uniform, are considered well mannered gentlemen and respected for that by most in the civil society. Least we could do is put across our points of view in a forceful yet gentlemanly manner.
Best Regards,

I dont think RWA would have passed such a resolution arbitarily. There is restriction on sale from AWHO (army) for a period of time there after AWHO does not lay down any restriction on the nature of buyer i.e Army/ civilian........ as the property value appreciates, there will be no buyers from only defence forces....would like to see how many army officers can afford to pay the market value and in white....This restriction is illegal aould be challenged in court of law....... .what happens if some one requires money for his daughters marriage/ wifes or self medical treatment and cant find an ARMY Buyer. Best solution is change all the RWA members who do not have the members interest in mind while framing such rules..
