I'm part of Next Wave Festival's Text Camp, where we are mentored to
come up with responses to the riskiness shown by the pieces presented
at Next Wave in Melbourne this year. I'm part of the Creative stream,
which means that our responses can be lateral (not strictly text-
based). I've been inspired by a performance night I saw about "going
outside your comfort zone" to create a photographic piece based on
amateurism, criticism, putting yourself out there.
The concept for my response basically involves me tied up in different
types of ribbons, with words written on me (on the ribbons and on my
body) reflecting personal vulnerability and personality, as well as
other people's opinions and perceptions. It'll likely involve partial
nudity/toplessness covered tastefully by ribbons.
I mainly need a photographer (with experience in art pieces) and
someone to help me write the words and get the ribbons on. It'd be
great to get people with a good eye, someone who can help tweak the
concept too so that it looks great. Despite being tied up by ribbons I
don't want it to look overtly like a bondage piece!
This would likely be published in Express Media's The Reader and you
will get full credit. No pay unfortunately but I could barter time and
services.
If you like, here's a link to the list of my journal entries from my
Next Wave experience, so you have a feel for what I'm about:

I'm busy travelling across Sydney and Melbourne till 1st June, and
this piece is due 14th June, so I'll need someone between now and
then.
Thank you!

p.s. why is everyone so quiet?
