Hi everyone,

ShockFrock seems to be going quite well! We're signing on a few
performers day by day and there's been quite a bit of interest in the
event from the general public.

I've been contacting different media places telling them about
ShockFrock and got an AWESOME response from queer women's street mag
LOTL. Here's a partnership opportunity that I hope to make use of for
Awesome GRRRLS. How amazing!

Oh and a quick update - I got the money to go to melbourne :D thank
you soooooooooo much!!

If you know of any other media sources (online, offline, wherever),
tell them about ShockFrock! Pass the word on :) 17th June, Step Inn,
tix $10 from 7pm.

Thanks!

Hey Tiara,

I have passed this on to our advertising department (I believe Hayley
has been in contact with you) and our LOTL editor in case there is
room in the mag.  I think they are adding the event to the venue
profile for the next issue.

It sounds like a great evening planned for ShockFrock!  We would like
to look at a partnership with you down the track, so please keep us up
to date with plans and events.  For now we are super tied up with our
partnerships, but I can offer you some digital subscription prizes for
lucky door prizes or something at the event.  Let me know if you are
interested.  We can also offer 'friends' of your event a special
subscription deal if you have a FB page or a newsletter that you send
out.

Let me know what you think.  All the best for Shock Frock!

Amanda

Hi Amanda and the LOTL crew!

I'm from the Awesome GRRRLS, a new creative collective based in
Brisbane aimed at getting women of all skills & interests together to
create awesomeness. We're starting off with a bang with ShockFrock, a
night of female-fronted music, performance, and fashion. It's at the
Step Inn at 7pm, 17th June, tickets for $10. There's plenty of queer
women involved and I'd love to have any Brisbane LOTL readers & crew
come by and rock out with us!

Hope to see you there!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AWESOME GRRRLS BRISBANE LAUNCH PARTY
SHOCKFROCK 7pm Thursday June 17, Step Inn, Fortitude Valley. Tickets: $10

AWESOME GRRRLS, a new Brisbane-based collective to encourage
creativity and collaboration between creative women, presents
SHOCKFROCK: the first of many nights to showcase females in music,
performance, and fashion. It will be held at the Step Inn, Fortitude
Valley, on Thursday June 17, tickets $10.

Headlining SHOCKFROCK are zombie punk rock trio Legless, who initiated
this gig to both support other female talent and to raise funds for
recording their latest album, 'Strange'. Legless are supported by The
Pretty Boys, another riot grrl trio who play mohawk destroying music
with hard riffs and fast drumming.

Also performing are local burlesque stars Bebe le Buff, Lita Lynx, and
Mackenzie Dulcet (newly arrived from Canberra), contemporary dance duo
Diva Diva, ukelele folk rock from Absolute Tits, some drag king action
from Brisbane's own WonderWoman Evelyn Hartogh and a fashion show of
local designers which promises to be a riotous romp from the risqué to
the ridiculous.
Performance artist Tiara the Merch Girl started AWESOME GRRRLS to find
like-minded people to bounce off creative energy and ideas. Inspired
by feminism, riot grrrls, the Runaways, and Haus of Gaga, Tiara is
keen to get more Brisbane women and girls involved in creating more
awesome chaos.

"The response to AWESOME GRRRLS has been immense, and I'm very excited
about what the future holds," said Tiara. "I'm eager to see more
female Brisbane people, whatever their experience, sign on to be an
AWESOME GRRRL and bring their ideas to life, with all of us supporting
each other."

Tiara the Merch Girl, Legless and other performers are available for
interviews and photocalls. Please contact Tiara to set up a time that
is convenient.
