Dear Awesome Grrrls,

 

Legless and I would like thank everyone involved with the Shockfrock event at the Step Inn last Thursday night. I think you will agree (if you attended or performed) that we have an amazing collective of talent and creative inspiration within our newly formed group. I am truly excited about the future of Awesome grrrls and cant wait to see what happens next.

 

However there are some things you all need to be aware of. It is my aim to be transparent with the financials.

 

The night ran at a loss of $8. Attendance was 30 paying customers, which was a bit dissapointing, expecially after all the advertising, media releases etc.

The expenses were

$150 venue,

$138 advertising 2x1/4 page ads in Rave,

$20 for the globe for the spotlight

So unfortunately Awsesome Grrrls do not have any funds to pay the acts.

 

Just so you are aware also, I personally absorbed $30 worth of photocopying.

Legless paid for 4zZz advertising and a poster run to promote the night. ($350)

 

Financial gain should not determine the success of an event. So I am not too dissapoiinted, and with the glass half full theory, at least we didnt incur a huge loss!
