I'm having trouble getting rotation values from Cinema 4D into Away
3d.

C4D uses HPB-rotation internally and I havn't been able to find a
simple enough explanation for me to understand...

I guess/hope this should be easy for some of you guys, and I'd really
appreviate your help!

Thanks,

David

I recall Andreas worked on this for AwayBuilder,
So there might be something of interrest nested into the AB package.

In meanwhile I'll try ping him, and see if he can help you on this.

Hi David.

I have the same problem when converting C4D coordinates in AwayBuilder
and unfortunately don't have a solution for it yet. From what I can
gather it is only the banking (B) that's causing the problems. The
positions and other rotation values come through fine when converted
to Away coordinate space.

Don't know if that helps but if you can make it work without using
banking you should be fine.

Thanks for your replies!

The animation is 3d-models that will be matched to a video, so it
needs to be a perfect import to get to look smooth. I have been able
to get pretty close by using the collada parser, and then inverted
some axis of rotation on some (!?) objects and adjusting the animation
frame by frame with rotation offsets.

It's an ugly solution though, and it would be sweet to be able do
these kind of project with a smooth pipeline.
