AWARE-LA End of Summer Potluck! No SD in September, come hang out September 11th instead!

Greetings AWARE-LA:

   Hope this email finds you well! For many of us educators and students in AWARE, this is a major period of transition from Summer to Fall Semester, so good luck to everyone starting up school again. 

   It's also that time of the year when we come together for a fun, informal, social gathering as a community. Debbie, Ken and Lisa Winters have been generous enough to offer their home for a relaxed gathering on Sunday, September 11 from 4-7pm. Please mark your calendars and join us for a few hours of mingling and snacking. SPECIAL NOTE: there will be no Saturday Dialogue in September.

   Their address is 21317 Nashville Dr. Chatsworth, CA 91311. They have a tennis court in case anyone plays, and a pool (no heater, but it may be end up being a warm enough day anyway). AWARE will provide a few snacks, but we would greatly appreciate everybody bringing a little something to contribute as well. 

   Unlike our Saturday Dialogues, this is not a space only for white folks. Please feel free to invite white friends or friends of color - a direct conversation about what AWARE is and why you choose to be a part of it might be part a healthy invitation :)
