We are back on track for AWANA. We look forward to our college students return as leaders this week (and smaller groups to say sections!)

A few reminders:

Sparks parents:  Your children are only allowed 2 helps per section.  Many are not strong readers and may need YOU to practice their verses with them and help them say their sections well.  Some of the kids we worked with over the last few weeks on review sections, it was like learning the verses for the first time!

TnT parents: Your children's books involve some Search Site weeks (where they look up things in the Bible and find the answer) and other DO IT weeks (the do it weeks often require they do 5 kind things at home or school, or show LOVE in 5 ways, etc.)  Ask your children how they are doing on their sections or flip through their books, some need a bit of help to remember these key parts of the book.

Cubbies-- you just follow the schedule of calendar sections/dates and stay on the date that it is.   Your kids are doing great for their YOUNG ages!

If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to ask who the Directors are and speak to them about it. We want AWANA to be a good experience for ALL children.

SNOW season:
  • Children NEED DRY gym shoes to play games, so if it is BOOT weather, bring their shoes in a bag (and instruct your kids to change and leave their boots UNDER the tables in the gym).  They cannot run well or safely in socks.
  • Labeling your children's coats, shoes, boots, etc is very helpful if something has a name on it and we find it, we will connect with you.
  • If school is cancelled due to snow, there will be NO AWANA. (based on the Dubuque Community School District)
  • If there is an early OUT due to snow, there will be NO AWANA.  (if there is a late arrival on a Thursday, we still have AWANA).
  • If the snow starts after school and is heavy or really icy/blowing or seems unsafe, we will send an email out cancelling AWANA.
