Are there plans to build Awaitability against java8?

I could imagine there are some features which would be quite nice to have like

waiting for an Optional gets an value or an supplier returns something not null....

Awaitility already supports condition ewaluation in a lambda expressions [1]. While some constructions could be even more simple I don't know it the benefit would be so significant to put it directly into Awaitility instead of using (for example) AssertJ to handle a value in an Optional or a supplier.

 

Could you provide some API outlook? It would be probably beneficial to have it also in a form which would allow to use it as an add-on to the code package which could be still support older Java versions.
