Generally speaking the primary goal of list building is to have an email list of people interested in the product or service you offer your niche. This allows you to build a relationship with them and find out what more they want and provide it for them for free or for a fee. The concept is really simple. People tend to buy from people they have built a relationship with rather than from strangers. This is one reason why it is not wise to just send your traffic straight to a sales page and expect large numbers to make a purchase. Email List building allows you to build a relationship with those who have permitted you to send them information of value. It is more effective than sending people 'cold' to your sales page and expecting them to buy from you on the first visit to your sales page. You may want to bear in mind that it takes about 7 visits or exposures to what you are promoting for people to make a purchase email list. That one visit to your web sales page without a relationship having being formed yet may well be the last time you hear from that visitor. How many people actually bookmark pages and come back to them? Do you? Further, you can expect a 0.5-3% conversion rate at your website sales page but what about the 97% that did not purchase from you? This is the percentage that list building is all about. You can capture the name and address of your visitor (in the 97%) and get them to come back to your website at a later date. This is easily done with an auto responder like Aweber or Getresponse that sends out your relationship building messages at intervals set by you. Write articles and offer a free and valuable gift in your resource box. Your readers interested in your freebie will click on your link to get it. In this way you can build a more responsive list as your article would have already started to build rapport with your readers. If your article is well written and submitted to high Page Rank sites like EzineArticles.com it can go tops in the search engines. You could be looking at lots of free organic traffic which in turn will mean more clicks and more subscribers. Do you want to learn more about how I do it?
