Clicks is going to release a tactile keyboard to use with standard
smartphones. Clicks has made the Power Keyboard. It features a QWERTY layout
with directional keys and a number row. It attaches via MagSafe or Qi2 and
has a 2,150 mAh battery to help keep your phone topped up. The phone can
then be flipped into either a horizontal or vertical orientation. The
product feels like a Blackberry keyboard and connects to your device via
Bluetooth. Allowing users to use all of the major text message apps and use
the keyboard, instead of the touchscreen.
The gadget will magnetically stick onto any phone supporting MagSafe or Qi
2. And since there's a 2150 mAh battery inside the keyboard, you can use it
as a power bank - it supports 5W wireless charging. The Power Keyboard
measures 119.7 x 76.6 x 15.2mm and weighs 180 grams. In other words, it will
basically double the weight of a recent iPhone and triple the thickness. but
since it's a magnetic accessory rather than a case, it should be easy to
detach and store in your pocket or bag when it's not in use.
Clicks says the Power Keyboard will ship this spring for $109, but it's
available for pre-order now for $79.
