Greetings,
I've just performed an arithmetic function on my Taylor frame, which I've
kept from my school days, no, it is not one of the good auld metal jobs,
perhaps it is were, twould have been more robust and not lost it's type tray
which snapped off fairly soon after I left College in July 1970, it is a
plastic frame, the type being contained in a Digger Flake tobaco tin,
extremely connon at Rowton Castle!
I used easily to be able putting type in the holes at speed, I have used the
frame a few times over the years since leaving college in July 1970, as,
afterall, we did not have useable calculators let alone computers, until the
early eighties!
Putting the type in the holes proved a somewhat taudry experience, such
fiddly little things in small holes! I wondered how on Earth I managed to
use these things at a good speed when at Bristol and Shrewsbury?
I would be interested to learn of other people's experiences, when taking
their education, or using these Taylor Frames since.
I reckon I'll have another practice in hopes I can increase my accuracy and
speed.
