I just signed the petition "Lower the NHS bowel screening age to 30 across
the UK" and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.

I am highly conscious of this disease, a very good friend of mine died of
bowel cancre in 2013, he had problems only for a couple of years not
realizing his predicament until it was too late.

At 76 coming up to 77 this July, I take the bowel cancre screening test
every time invited which, up to now, has been every two years, I've been
doing it must be around eight years.

So far, no problems, it's relatively simple even for somebody with little or
no sight, put a sample of feesies into a small tube using the "spoon"
provided, ceal it in the envelope which is already addressed and paid, post
off, making sure the label which you attach to the tube, is dated with the
date on which the sample is taken.

Result is returned to you as a print letter, within a week to ten days.

Hi Colin

I'll take a look at this and probably sign it. Regarding your age, I feel I should tell you that not only is there a lower age limit for the tests but there is also an upper limit, which is 74. This means that you will probably not be sent any tests. In recent years, the only time I was given a test kit was when there was reason for concern. I'm pleased to say that the results were negative.
