Greetings,
I have two sets of hearing aids, one supplied through the National Health
Service, another set purchased privately through Scrivers, the NHS ones are
ok but lack some essential facilities such as Blue Tooth but both can access
induction loops.
The problem has been with the privately purchased aids, yes, they have Blue
Tooth and Induction Loop, they fit right inside the ear and have the mic
hanging over the top of each ear as do the NHS aids.
The problem has been, I experience great difficulty placing them in the
correct position within the ear. Often getting it wrong, after a short
time, the ears become exceedingly uncomfortable meaning I can't wear them
too long.
I went for a check last Friday and was advised the moulds for the ears can
be made smaller enabling them better to fit my ears. The real problem is my
left ear is smaller than my right, also, I need the hf boosted and also, one
is supposed to press buttons to adjust volume Etc. on one aid and the
adjustment is applied to both. Often this works but sometimes, when wearing
them each side needs adjusting independently.
I am hoping, in a couple of weeks, they will be returned working properly.
It appears when placing in my ears from the charger into which they are
placed when not in use, the Blue Tooth is automatically switched on and for
a short time is searching for devices. I am not sure how long it remains
searching, if it is only, say, half a minute, I don't think this is long
enough for successful pairing. I've been advised the name of the aid is
colin'shearingaids preceded by some text the definition of which the lady
was unable to give, therefore, we'll endeavour to get this sorted, both with
my aids and laptop and desktop pc's.
