Announcing three new Aviary features

We are excited to announce three new Aviary features!

Aviary developed these features in collaboration with the University of Alberta Library to enhance media file technical metadata and provide organizations with detailed auditing information. All Aviary organizations can now access integrity checks and technical metadata for media files hosted on the platform, as well as an audit log of changes made by organization users:

• Integrity checks are generated for media files uploaded to Aviary. MD5 and SHA256 checksums for media files hosted in Aviary can be accessed from the Media table. Integrity checks for a single media file can also be viewed by opening the Manage Media File modal window and clicking the Manage Media Info tab. 

  
  

• Additional technical metadata is available for media files uploaded to Aviary. This technical metadata includes in-depth information about a media file's format, size, encoding method, and other attributes. Media technical metadata can be viewed by opening the Manage Media File modal window and clicking the Media Technical Metadata tab. 

  
  

• An audit log tracks changes to Aviary resources, media files, transcripts, indexes, and supplemental files. To view the audit log, click the Audit Log link located under the Organization dropdown menu.

We’ve also launched the Aviary Enhancement Requests Portal, where users can submit and vote for more new features and enhancement requests. We're eager to hear your feedback about features and enhancements you’d like to use in Aviary and OHMS!
