World premiere of opera Oxford Companions

Giancarlo Aquilanti

In the words of the composer Giancarlo Aquilanti, his new opera is a modern tragedy with a romantic spirit, a story about young people in the wake of World War II who are caught up in the demands of family, justice, and love. "The characters of the opera are sympathetic but imperfect, and the problems they face are grander versions of the very problems that many people face in the course of their lives."
