Anyone have any insight as to when the committee will be posting new
case report examples to the site? I have started writing mine and
could really use some guidance on format.

Many kudos to you for starting the writing process so early! I totally
procrastinated and it made my holidays really crazy.

All the best,

Thanks Jonathan!

Also, one of my case reports is a patient that was hospitalized for 12
days. LOTS of things done in those 12 days...Bulldog...(go figure)!!
Any advice how keeping it short and sweet to fit in the required
format with such a vast amount of information?

I would try to focus on one problem the dog had. An animal in the hosp for 12 days is going to be really hard to write about in 5 pages. The longest one of mine was in the hosp was 3 days, but I only handled it for 18 hours.

That's a tough one! One of my cases was a really complicated septic abdomen that was in hospital 6 days - the first time I wrote it up, I was three pages over! It took a lot of ruthless chopping to cut it down to size!
My best advice would be to focus mostly on the parts you were involved in, and your observations, especially if they changed or influenced the treatment plan at all. And also any procedures you personally did or were involved in.
What also really helped me was that I had a really good proof reader in one of the vets I worked with - if you can find someone like that, if you're fortunate to have someone like that around, it's a huge help!
Good luck!

I used aa bulldog with bicavity effusionl that was also septic. He was in the hospital for several days. I just used the time I worked on him in my report. It is true though that some cases are just to complicated. I considered a patient that was on the vent for 2 weeks but it was just to much info to wade through.
