Dear Abu Saleh

After the successful opening of William Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, IAPAR and MIDAS are coming up with a new play, “The Balancing Act”.

In today’s world young people see violence almost everywhere. It starts with their journey to school. Even crossing a road has become a stressful activity. And then they have to deal with the studies and most of the times unfriendly pedagogy. They also have to take the stress of peer pressure. After the school hours, they are either in the tuition classes or homework. With the pressures of ‘development’ and ‘modern life’, they live in a nuclear family. Many a times, both the parents are working professionals and they don’t have sufficient time for their children. Children get glued to the television and even cartoons show violence as fun!

What would be the life of a young person who is going through or gone through such a violent atmosphere? What kind of imagination and ideas such mind would evolve? What could be the repercussions of such bringing up? Can we at least look at the emotional needs and life of such young people? Can we equip young people to deal with such scenario?

The play tries to respond to some these questions.

The opening shows are on Tuesday, 25th March 2014 at Nath Pai Rangamanch, Rashtra Seva Dal, Sane Gurujee Smarak, Near Dandekar Bridge, Pune at 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm.

For further details, kindly contact Mr. Nikhil Gadgil on +91 90110 83127

Hope to see you there!

With warm regards,
