Hike up Skeletons and down Nursery

Hi All

It has been some time since a hike was organised and I am keen to get out there before the rain and wind sets in more strongly. We are going to hike up Skeletons Gorge and down Nursery Ravine behind Kirstenbosch Gardens. We will be starting where we started last time- outside of the reserve. There is no reason to pay entrance and the extra walking is not that much more. The weather is good for Saturday morning.

Starting Point: Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (Main Entrance)
Ending Point: Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (Main Entrance)
Walk Duration: 5 – 6 Hours (Add on for stops)
Type of Terrain: Dirt road, Single Track, Steep Stairs, Steep Rocky River Bed and Ladders
Difficulty: This is a difficult hike requiring fitness and hiking experience.

Haha. True. But we are flying up with a friend that recently got a piloting license and needs to rack up some flying hours. I'm sure that will make things slightly more interesting.

Last email from me for the day...

We are going to meet at 08:00 at the bottom parking lot of Kirstenbosch gardens. After which we will be leaving to a section just outside the gardens to start the walk. We will do the hike up Skeletons and then rest at the top with some lovely views then proceed back down Nursery ravine. Ending hopefully around lunch-time or just after.
