Take time to re-watch part (or all) of the Spirit Video from last
week. Choose one segment to complete a full PQP response. Remember
to stay specific and positive, offer realistic feedback that
demonstrates your understanding of the skill required in this course.

P - Praise
Expound on something you found really interesting and you liked about
the segment. It could be a particular shot, camera technique, or edit
that stood out as praiseworthy

Q - Question
Develop a question about how something particular was done or why the
producer choose to do things that particular way.

P - Polish
Offer specific suggestions as to how to improve for the next project.
Remember this isn't about being super critical, but it is about
helping each other become stronger media producers.

I watched the football video.
Praise: The beginning was amazing!!!! The music choice was also very
interesting.
Question: I would like to know how he used the filters for the
beginning. What filters did he use to make it almost look transparent
in places?
Polish: Maybe next time more variety of shots would be cool. Overall
though I thought it was amazing.

Praise- I like the segment of all the football players yelling, the
editing on it was good, and it was just a really good segment.

Question- Why did the producer use the music or beeping sound that was
used?

Polish- Don't use weak music, use something strong and meaningful.

Intro

P-I liked the way the intro got teachers involved and kinda led into
the whole spirit video. Also the scene we remade from 300 was really
good with the effect and most of the football team getting involved.
Q-Why was the audio so back and forth? Why was it louder and quieter
in some points during the same segment?
P-USE MICROPHONES!!!!!! If we use microphones the audio would be a lot
better and perfect this project!!

P - Praise
I really liked the choice of music and how they tinted the shot on
each of the different clips.
The different colors matched the cheerleaders shirts which looked
really nice.

Q - Question
How did you get all of the tinted effects?

P - Polish
I thought the video was really good. The only thing I would suggest
would be to have more of a
variety of effects.

P- The cross country video was funny and it got everyone's attention

Q- Why did you not film all the seniors running from the bear? Why was
it only focused mainly on 3 people?

P-The sound quality was not good at all in the gym. You could not make
out what was being said at anytime. Be more careful with voices and
sounds.

Cross Country

Praise- It was very funny and interesting with good film technique
use.
Questions- Why weren't all the cross country runners put in throughout
the video instead of just three main people for most of it.
Polish- Use of special effects could have created more visual interest
in the video.

P- I really enjoyed the clip with Garrett flashing, and all the
filters he used.
Q- What kind of filters did you use?
P- Try to get all the film, and different types of shots.

i watched the cheer video
Praise- i loved this part! i liked the song used for it and the
filters!

Question- Why did the sound mess up in the gym and work fine in the
room? It was very depressing that it messed up....

Polish- maybe we could have some shots of them cheering at the games
(i know we didn't have any games before the video) i loved it very
much.. thats about the only thing i can think of that would make it
better!

I watched the softball Video
Praise: I LOVED the different filters that were used in this video!
Question: How did you make the video reflect beside itself? Like a
mirror effect?
Polish: I cant think of that much that could make it look better.
Maybe a different variety of shots, but that is about it.

i watched the volleyball video
the shot i found really interesting was the shot of the varsity going
forward an being rewound
why the producer had so many low shots were because to show a lot of
area for a great shot
a few suggestions is not to make so long but it was good just less
time

I watched the Volleyball Segment

Praise: The filters and music was awesome. It all went together really
well.

Question: How did they get some of the effects that they used?

Polish: It was a little too long. Not by much but it could have been a
little bit shorter.

I pick the Cheer Video
P- The wide use of different effects and the way the song and clips
fit and was timed good.
Q- Is there any way to limit the sparkles when you put that effect on
the pom poms?
P- The music was great but maybe try using more than one song?

I chose the volleyball video.
P-The music was great! Lots of great shots! I liked how some of the
jumping shots were repeated so it looked like they were jumping a lot
at once.
Q-Why was there only practice footage and not anything from the
scrimmages?
P-I noticed one of the shots was used twice but with an effect the
second time. Try to just use a shot once.

Juniors- Dress Code

Praise- I liked the idea of filming "tragic" real life stories for the
video

Question: Why were not more filters and angles used to make the story
more interesting?

Polish: Well, first I would suggest staying away from using one shot
for too long. The audience will lose interest, even if the story line
is funny. Another is to get better audio. Maybe use some microphones
next time?

As a side note for the cross country video.. You can't just use the
Video kids that are in that sport. You should include everyone. Like
maybe.. the whole team?! Also, if it says seniors and bear.. It should
include all seniors.

I watched the Cross Country segment
P: The concept of the cross country runners being chased by the bear
mascot was pretty hilarious.

Q: Like others have asked already, why were there only 3 main people
being chased by the bear and not the whole cross country team?

P: Next time use a few special effects to help give the clip a little
more character and try to use more team members so everyone gets
included. Also try to get more camera angles incorporated into it.

juniors: dress code

P - Praise
It was funny and well thought out. I also enjoyed the story that some
of them told .

Q - Question
it was hard to hear some of the juniors who were in the video i was
woundering if the wind was bad that day to create so much ambeaint
noise.

P - Polish
I would say next time use a mic for the project and make sure every
thing is set up to catch the subjects not only in visual senses but
audiou too

Cross Country

Praise- It was really funny and had a great scenes to it.

Question- Why weren't more cross country runners added in the video?

Polish- Maybe use some special effects to spice up the video a bit and
use camera angles that get peoples attention.

I watched the cross country video.

P-I really liked the concept of the video, and thought it was really
funny. It also used some good angles.

Q-Why were so few of the cross country runners used, I think it would
have been better if it involved more people.

P-I think more effects on the video would have made it more visually
interesting, but over all it was very well done.

I watch the football video
P- I was a really good video i like when the poem was read in the
middle of the video it really added to it

Q- How many filters did you use, what were them?

P- Try to use move angles, but i know its hard to film a football game
and get alot of angles. I thought the video was one of the best in the
Spirit Video.
